BEHIND THE WARDROBE
15 Years. 10 Fashion Houses. Over 100,000 Pieces Archived.
THE WARDROBE was founded by Julie Ann Clauss, a leading expert in Fashion History and Collections Management.
Julie Ann pioneered the business of fashion archiving, creating the first company to marry museum-specific expertise and market sensibility, enabling designers and entertainers to unlock hidden value and leverage their archives.
In 2008, after earning her Masters from the Fashion Institute of Technology Julie Ann was recruited by world renowned designer Tom Ford to establish a comprehensive archive of his work. Since launching THE WARDROBE in 2011, Julie Ann has continued to consult for Mr. Ford and many designer clients - including Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Gabriela Hearst, Marc Jacobs, PVH Archives, et al. She also works with private collectors and some of the world’s most famous musicians and actors.
Prior to her work with Mr. Ford, Julie Ann was a Senior Fashion Writer and media spokesperson at a nationally circulated fashion and beauty publication. She has appeared on television programs, including Entertainment Tonight and The Today Show in New York. Julie Ann earned her B.A. in journalism from New York University.
